The beauty of God’s creation

I am in awe of the flower my husband brought home to me last night – I have never seen anything like it!!!   Does anyone know what it is?  I placed it in some water as the leaves quickly started to curl up, and found it totally closed up this morning.  Look at the fine artwork in this masterpiece and tell me there is no God!  I dare you!

On that note, may you have a Blessed Festive period, and may 2014 be better than any year in your life thus far.

About suletta

Fell in love again at age 50! And followed my man to Zanzibar, for him to set up a dairy farm. I managed to travel into Africa a few times in my life, always loving it and experience the "fever" that grips you on African soil - the one that especially the Europeans now and in years gone by, suffer from. Except I am an African by birth - a South African. A Mzungu. So I discovered at this late stage in my life (not that I feel old!) that some people find my babblings about life interesting, and I quote: "live their lives vicariously through me".

The flower looks almost like a Thistle, but it’s not. In the States and here is Thailand we have a ‘weed’ that looks a lot like this. So beautiful it’s hard for me to call them weeds. When I was young, many years ago, we called them ‘May Pops’ From the flower a pod would grow and I would step on them and they would pop. Also eatable.

    It’s a granadilla flower 🙂
